The ‘dome’ will allow the business to function comfortably all year round

After one of the hottest summers on record, Adventure Golf Island in Fife Leisure Park in Dunfermline has started preparing for the winter to maximise its operation.

What is believed to be the first fully inflatable dome over a mini golf course in Europe has been installed at the leisure facility.

The completely air tight structure will now allow all the family to enjoy mini golf throughout the winter and not worry about the wind, rain and even snow, said the firm.

The 10-metre high dome uses over 25,000 square feet of special PVC material, which is the equivalent size of over half a football pitch.

The dome has been specially designed for the Pirates Cove course and allows natural light in during the day and will be floodlit at night.
